This course is an ideal introductory seminar for those who are new to the lightning industry or who deal with lighting as a small part of their larger work responsibilities.
It also serves as an excellent stepping stone for those wishing to pursue more advanced courses in the future.
For those more experienced or knowledgeable about lighting, please watch for our in-depth Lighting Fundamentals course, which will be held later this year.
Course Overview
Lighting Basics aims to equip students with an understanding of basic lighting concepts, common lighting terminology, and an appreciation for some technologies used in today’s lighting designs. Students will learn about lighting metrics like lumens, footcandles, lux, and candelas, as well as common terms as they relate to lamps, ballasts, LED sources and drivers, and lighting fixtures. The emphasis is placed on understanding the basic concepts rather than in-depth technical discussions on the material.
