About the Presentation

Raivo Nommik will share insights from over two decades of experience in exhibit lighting and explain the fundamentals of next-level art lighting.

In this talk, we will explore key fixture types, conservation guidelines, and kit must-haves for creative flexibility and professional results.

We will discuss what ‘museum grade’ lighting means and you will observe some key features and shortcomings to watch for with a practical demonstration on how to discern the good from the bad.

You will be introduced to different styles of fixtures and what to look for on a spec sheet. There will also be a short demonstration of how to easily use them for subtle, yet dramatic effects.

Finally, we will look at what’s trending in museums and galleries. You will walk away with a stronger understanding of how to illuminate for art and cultural exhibits.
